Pay Scale: 
● Monthly scholarship of Rs. 25,000 for first two years (only if NET qualified); Rs. 28,000 in the third year. 
● For candidates with only MSc/ degree (without NET qualification), monthly scholarship will be Rs. 16,000 .

Educational Requirements: M.Sc. or M.Tech degree by August, 2015 in a relevant branch of Physics / Electronics / Astrophysics with 55% marks or more.

1. Proven track record in radio astronomy and radio interferometric data analysis is desirable. 
2. Students with Astronomy-Astrophysics specialization in M.Sc will be preferred. 
3. Good oral and written communication skills in English.

Job description: The main focus of the successful candidate will be to carry out the observations and analysis of the radio astronomy data on radio galaxies, quasars and gravitationally lensed sources found in galaxy clusters, to be taken with Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT) and other international radio astronomy facilities. As a member of research team led by Prof. Joydeep Bagchi (IUCAA, India) and Prof. Bruno Guiderdoni (Centre de Recherche Astrophysique, Observatoire de Lyon, France) candidate will carry out the above observations, take lead in the analysis of data and actively take part in writing of research papers. Working within the group, candidate will have the opportunity to carry out independent research and collaborate on various other projects being carried out in India and France by the group members using telescopes such as the GMRT, LOFAR, JVLA, HST and VLT in radio and optical domain.
